I started a reenactment troupe.

I started a reenactment troupe.

In my 50s, I longed for sisterhood. I also longed for the history of Nevada to be known and personified. I fulfilled this longing by starting the Naughty Tea Mistresses of Nevada. This troupe is 1860s naughty. We may laugh a little too loud or show our ankles. We represent real historic women of Nevada. I have found my sisterhood!

I appeared on a TV show.

I appeared on a TV show.

When Carol Paz asked me to be on her show, Women to Women, I was both excited and nervous. I had never told my story quite like this. I'm glad I did. I included a link to the episode.

I got hurt and kept moving.

I got hurt and kept moving.

My foot had become my excuse for not doing. I can't dance. I can't run. I can't play games. What I realized is that my foot had become my crutch for saying no in life. I'm healing and doing as much as I can. No banged up foot can stop me!

I started a horse rescue.

I started a horse rescue.

In my early 40s, I was tired of hearing about and seeing the horses in Texas who were sent to slaughter because of repairable medical issues or inability to perform on a race track. I started Osborne Stables Equine Rescue. Today, I have 30+ horses and a few donkeys and operate a 501(c)3 no-kill shelter. I also do equine work with veterans and at-risk youth.

I saved a diabetic cat.

I saved a diabetic cat.

Chunky was a rescue cat to begin with, but when I found out he had diabetes my world was turned on its head. I started a GoFundMe and continue to raise money to help him to this day. Who knows. Maybe I will start The Chunky Foundation to help other diabetic felines in need.

I made a bowl for charity.

I made a bowl for charity.

The Empty Bowls Project is a project that helps feed the homeless in communities around America. Making this bowl was fun, but knowing that it sold for a good cause brought me more joy than making the bowl itself.

I made a bowl sing!

I made a bowl sing!

I had heard recordings of Tibetan singing bowls, but I had never made one sing. Nothing beats being able to create this beautiful sound. Now I want to buy one! The link is to a mediation you can do using a Tibetan singing bowl. The bowl sounds are in the video.

I told my story.

I told my story.

I learned how to belly dance.

I learned how to belly dance.

I have always had problems with my body image. I was always too "fluffy," too "pale," or had too much back fat. By the way, you can't suck that in. When I started belly dancing with the Zephyr Spirit Tribe in Carson City, Nevada, that fear of inadequacy and judgment melted away.

I'm feeling the wind in my hair.

I'm feeling the wind in my hair.

I have been on the back of a motorcycle since I was 2. I have ridden on the back and its become a metaphor for my life. This May, I'm taking a motorcycle class. This purple Dyna is my inspiration. I have always wanted to ride, but I haven't stepped on the accelerator until now.

I got a new family member.

I got a new family member.

The vet papers say he is a miniature Shih Tsu mix. Our friend who gave him to us said he is part yorkie. But to my husband and I, he is a new member of our family, regardless of breed. He is such a sweetie pie! We love him to bits!
